FAQ

PRINTING

  • What types of paper can be used for the printables?
    • Any type of paper can be used.  For party printables, we generally recommend matte photo paper or white cardstock.  However, glossy photo paper, brochure paper, and even standard printer paper can be used.  For digital art, we would recommend matte or glossy photo paper.
  • What size paper do I need to use?
    • Party printables are designed to be printed on standard 8.5” x 11” paper.  It is recommended you set your printer to a borderless option if possible.  For digital prints, the images can be resized to fit your needs.
  • Do I have to print the pages on a home printer?
    • Once you purchase a printable, it can be printed at your home or any copy or print shop such as OfficeMax, Staples, or FedEx/Kinkos.  If you are using a copy/print shop for the first time, we highly recommend checking for customer reviews, as quality can vary greatly.  Be certain to discuss the type of paper being used for printing.  While some print shops will allow you to email the file, you may be required to bring the file to the store via a USB/flash drive or disc.
  • How many times can I print the files?
    • You may print the file as many times as needed for your own personal use.  For additional details please reference our Terms of Use.  If you still have additional questions, please contact us.
  • Do I have to print the entire party package each time?
    • Most programs have the ability to allow you to print less than an entire file.  You should see an option to “print all pages”, “current page”, or you could list specific pages or a “custom range” such as “1-5,12-15,22-23”.  These options allow you to print only what you need, to avoid waste and unnecessary expense.
  • Why does my printed product look different than what I see on my computer?
    • Color variations can occur due to a variety of factors.  Colors vary from monitor to monitor.  In addition, color variations and quality can be impacted due to the type of printer used, type and brand of paper, as well as the ink used.  Printer settings can also play a part in variations.
    • If you are not satisfied with the color of your print, try changing paper types.  Ensure your ink level on your printer is not low, and you are printing at the best quality print level available.
    • Because of the vast number of variables involved, no refunds will be issued for problems due to color variations.  If you are extremely concerned about matching a specific color please contact me prior to purchase to print a sample proof for color matching purposes

 PART PACKAGE ASSEMBLY

  • What supplies will I need to assemble the party printables?
    •  At a minimum, you will need the following supplies:
      • Paper and Ink.  Alternatively, you may have your file printed a print/copy shop.
      • Scissors.  These will be used to cut out all of the printable products.  Using a paper trimmer can expedite the cutting process, but is not required.
      • Tape or glue.  Depending on which pages you are printing, you may need tape or glue to secure the items.  Water bottle labels, napkin rings, party flags, and party hats will need held together in some manner.  In addition, if you are using party circles as cupcake or cake toppers, you will need a method to secure them to toothpicks or dowels.   Double-sided or invisible tape is recommended due to the ease with which it is applied and the quick turn-around time, as opposed to glue which takes additional time to dry.  A hot glue gun or rubber cement could also be used in certain circumstances.
    • There are other supplies which could make your assembly easier, but would not be necessary.
      • Toothpicks, dowel rods, coffee stirrers, or straws.  These items make excellent sticks for cupcake and cake toppers.  Secure 2” or 4” party circles to the stick using tape or glue.
      • Craft Punches.  A 2” craft punch can make cutting party circles a much quicker task.  You can use other size punches on the pattern paper to create additional pieces for cupcake toppers, banners, or table confetti.
      • Hole Punch.  A traditional hole punch can make it easier to assemble banners.  Simply punch a hole in each side of the banner to run string or ribbon through.  If you don’t have a hole punch, you can use scissors to create a small hole instead.
      • Ribbon or string.  Decorative ribbons and thicker strings can help a banner make a bigger impact.  You could also string party circles together to create garland or hanging/ceiling decorations.  If you don’t have string or ribbon, a banner can be attached to your surface with tape.
      • Waterproof paper.  This type of paper can be beneficial if you plan to store your water bottles in ice or a refrigerator.
  • Where can I purchase envelopes for the invitations and thank you cards?
    • Envelopes can be purchased at most print/copy shops or office supply stores.  Some photo labs will also allow you to purchase envelopes even if you do not purchase prints.  There are also numerous online retailers who sell envelopes in multiple sizes and colors.
  • What size envelopes will I need for mailing invitations and thank you cards?
    • The size envelope depends on the size of the item you are mailing.  Most of our invitations are 4” x 6” or 5” x 7”.  Thank you cards are almost always 4” x 6”.
    • For a 4” x 6” product, we recommend an A6 envelope, which is 4 ¾” x 6 ½”.
    • For a 5” x 7” product, we recommend an A7 envelope, which is 5 ¼” x 7 ¼”.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • What type of software do I need?
    • You will need to use Adobe Reader to open the party printable packages.  Files are in PDF format only, and other programs may distort the images or colors.  If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.
  • Can I edit the files?
    • Because the party packages are digital PDF files, you will be unable to alter any designs, colors, or fonts.   Depending on your computer and software, you may have the ability to add text on top of the images, such as for the invitation or food labels.
